Functions (Grade 11 = MCR3U1) (Discussion)

Hi there, I’m currently taking G.11 Functions and was just wondering if any of you know some good sites. By this I mean do you know some good sites that concentrate on Functions and Relations. This is the 4th unit of study. It involves transforming 6 major functions and analyzing the inverses.

You know f(x) = |x| (absolute) or f(x) = 1/x (asymptotes) or f(x) = square root and semi circle functions

So, once again would anyone know a place (preferably a website) that is all about this stuff!

Personally I always like using Wikipedia. It’s got everything, but sometimes the material can go over your head if you’re only in grade 11.

With function transformations you don’t really have to know much. Just memorize the major functions and remember their usual points. Then with a transformed function you can either just memorize things like f(x + k) means shifting a function to the left by k units, etc. Or you can plug in the usual points and it’ll help you figure it out.

You can post any questions you might have here, I’m sure members of the community can help you solve them.
